One should consume no more than 6 spoons of sugar or 25 grams of sugar daily. Alcohol also is not a part of blood pressure diet. Diets which target hypertension must also include lot of high fiber food such as whole grains. 


Lose extra weight and keep watch on waistline. Blood pressure is very often brought on by being overweight. The best change towards reducing blood pressure is to reduce weight.


Daily physical activity is one of the best natural cures to blood pressure. It is important to be regular about the daily activity because if you do not exercise then pressure may rise. The best type of exercise to lower blood pressure is aerobic exercise. Aerobic activity includes walking and jogging in addition to cycling and swimming.


Leave smoking to reduce hypertension. Every cigarette causes blood pressure to rise by 20-30 points and stays elevated for at least half an hour. The pressure gradually returns to normal over an hour after the last cigarette.  Quitting smoking helps reduce blood pressure.


Reduce stress by changing your mindset. Stress is a chief contributor to high blood pressure. The body produces adrenaline and cortisol when it is stressed. These hormones increase blood pressure by increasing heart rate. Managing stress is important to reducing hypertension. Stress management can be in the form of simple meditation and yoga. Yoga is a known cure for high blood pressure problems. In addition to meditation try and get plenty of hours of good quality sleep.


For low blood pressure one has to consume more salt. However excessive sodium interferes with functioning of the heart so it has to be monitored carefully. In addition those who suffer from low blood pressure need to eat small meals several times a day to avoid low blood pressure after a large meal.
